During August 16 – 19, 2023 partner universities reported on the achievements and stages of implementation of the international project 610427-EPP-1-2019-1-EE-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP “Foreign Language Teacher Training Capacity Development as a Way to Ukraine’s Multilingual Education and European Integration (MultiEd)” at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University. Representatives from Ukrainian partners and the Ministry of Education of Ukraine, Zaporizhzhia National University, V.O. Sukhomlynskyi National University of Mykolaiv, Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy, Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University, Horlivka Institute of Foreign Languages (Donbas State Pedagogical University), V.N.Karazin Kharkiv National University, Ternopil Volodymur Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Non-Governmental Organization «Association of Teachers of English» TESOL-Ukraine presented the results of the international project implementation at the institutional level: development of the “Regulation on Multilingual Education”, updating of educational programmes of the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels of higher education for foreign language teachers and introduction of new and updated academic subjects based on the principles of CLIL approach.
The first day was devoted to checking the quality of the work packages and preparing a general report of all project participants. Online meeting with Svitlana Shytikova, the international project coordinator of the Erasmus+ National Office in Ukraine was productive and took place on the 17th of August where the partner universities shared the progress of the project implementation. Svitlana Shytikova drew attention to the sustainability of the project implementation, and emphasized new challenges in implementing international projects for Ukraine as an EU associate partner. Olha Onyshko, a representative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, emphasized the importance of the MultiEd project results for the development of the Law on the Use of English.
On August 18-19, 2023, the work on analyzing the effectiveness of the results of the MultiEd project, analyzing the quality of the project’s achievements and dissemination activities continued. Dr. Susan Garton (Aston University) and Dr. Jutta Rymarczyk (Heidelberg University of Education) joined the discussion online, where they heard about the implementation of the CLIL Methodology e-course on MOODLE platforms of universities, discussed the quality of teaching new and updated academic disciplines, and identified ways to their further application.
All participants received certificates after the meeting.
